On 25 October 2011, the Association hosted the Spanish
Insurance Association (UNESPA). UNESPA President Mrs. Pilar González de Frutos
and Mr. Manuel Mascaraque, Manager of Non-life department were invited to
introduce the assessment of personal injuries in Spain under MTPL Insurance (Baremo
System) to the related committee members of the Association.During the meeting,
UNESPA officials conducted a detailed presentation and explained about the
characteristics of the system. At the end of the meeting, the committee members
exchanged views with the UNESPA officials.
On 24 October 2011, upon the invitation of the Austrian Insurance
Association (VVO), the Association paid a study visit to the VVO. During the visit, the Association was represented by Mr. Erhan Tuncay, Secretary General of the Association and Ms. Muge Soysal,
International Relations Specialist.
At the meeting, the Association made a detailed presentation on the Association
and the Turkish insurance market. Following the presentation, the questions of
the VVO officials were responded. During the visit, the Association also met
with the officials from Vienna Insurance Group and discussed about the latest
developments in the Turkish market.
On 21 October 2011, the Association participated to the
conference on “Complementary Health Insurance” held at the Sheraton Maslak
Hotel. At the conference, the Association was represented by Mr. Erhan Tuncay,
Secretary General of the Association, Mr. Mehmet Kalkavan and Mr. Atilla Oksay,
the Deputy Secretary Generals of the Association and Ms. Derya Ozkan, Assistant
Specialist for Statistics and Actuary.
During the three sessions held, the panelists from insurance companies and
health institutions as well as scholars discussed about the characteristics and
requirements of the complementary health insurance.
The Association’s application to become a signatory to the
Road Safety Charter was approved in 2009. In this context, the Association
continues to undertake several actions to increase awareness on the road safety at
the national level.
On 12 October 2011, the Association hosted the Road Safety Training, a part of
the social responsibility project of Aviva Sigorta A.Ş. The training aimed at
increasing the awareness of the staff of the Association as well as its
subsidiaries on the road safety. The interactive training conducted by the HED
Academy mainly provided the participants with the visiual examples of safe
driving techniques, vehicle maintenance, traffic accidents and injuries.
