The Association will hold a conference on “Coastal Facilities Sea Pollution Liability Insurance”

On 19 October, the Association will hold a conference on “Coastal Facilities Sea Pollution Liability Insurance.” During the first part of the conference, foreign speakers will discuss about the implementation and legislative framework of coastal facilities sea pollution liability insurance in the EU.

In the second part of the conference, a discussion panel will be held. During the panel, the officials from Ministry of Environment and Forestry and Directorate General of Insurance will exchange views on the implemention of the liability insurance in Turkey.

The Association participated to the 12 th Hydra Insurance and Reinsurance Conference

On 2–4 September 2010, the Association participated to the 12 th Hydra Insurance and Reinsurance Conference held in Greece. The conference brought together top executives  from Western and Eastern Europe, the Black Sea and Eastern Mediterranean countries. During the conference, the Association was represented by Mr. Erhan Tuncay, Secretary General of the Association and Mr. Mehmet Kalkavan, Deputy Secretary General of the Association.

On the first day of the conference, the session on “Direct Settlement of Claims” was held. During the session, the speakers discussed about experiences from different markets. On the second day of the conference, the session on “Cost Containment in Health Business” was held. In this session, the speakers stressed the importance of public and private partnerships in the health business.



The Association participated to the 43 rd IMIA Annual Conference

On 11–15 September 2010, the Association participated to the 43 rd IMIA Annual Conference held in Berlin. During the meeting, the Association was represented by Mr. Mehmet Kalkavan, Deputy Secretary General of the Association.

During the four-day conference, the experts discussed the most prominent issues on the agenda of engineering insurers. The IMIA 2009 Annual Conference was hosted by the Association in Istanbul.

The Association participated to the seminar on “Raising Public Awareness on Insurance”

On 17 September, the Assocation participated to the seminar on “Raising Public Awareness on Insurance” held in Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. During the seminar, the Association was represented by Ms. Gamze Diler, Responsible for Press and Public Relations.

In the seminar, future awareness-raising activities were discussed. During the second session of the seminar, Ms. Gamze Diler informed the participants about Association’s publicity campaign.
