The Association has started to introduce the European Road Safety Charter on its website
The Association has started to introduce the
Road Safety Charter on its Turkish and English websites. The Charter is
introduced under two sections: “About ERSC” and “The Association & ERSC”
on the Association’s website. Brief information about the Charter and
several original documents on Road Safety prepared by related
institutions are accessible under these sections. Further materials on
road safety published by the Association are available on the
Association’s Turkish website.

The Association participated to the meeting on “Turkey’s New EU Strategy and Accession Process – Civil Society Dialogue”
On 13 February 2010, the Association participated to the meeting on “Turkey’s
New EU Strategy and Accession Process – Civil Society Dialogue” Meeting held by
the Secretariat General for EU Affairs at the Grand Cevahir Hotel and Convention
Centre in Istanbul. The meeting brought together representatives from non-governmental
organizations, trade associations and chambers of commerce across Turkey. At the
meeting, the Association was represented by Ms. Muge Soysal, Assistant EU
Specialist.
Following the opening speeches made by Mr. Egemen Bagis, Minister for EU Affairs
and Chief Negotiator, Mr. Volkan Bozkir, Secretary General for EU Affairs
provided information about Turkey’s New EU Strategy and Accession Process. Mr.
Bozkir briefly explained about the four pillars of Turkey’s New EU Strategy.
During the second part of the meeting, participants from several NGOs exchanged
views about major obstacles faced and responsibilities that would need to be
undertaken in EU accession talks.

The Association participated to the IAIS Meeting
On 24–26 February 2010, the Association participated
to the first meeting of triannual meetings held by the International Association
of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS) in Basel. During the meeting, the Association
was represented by Mr. Onur Acar, Responsible for Fiscal and Financial Affairs.
During the two-day meeting, the Association participated to the sessions on
solvency, financial stability and insurance groups. At the meeting, the
Association also attended the special session on systemic risks and efficient
regulation and supervision in the insurance sector in the aftermath of the
financial crisis.
