The Association held a press conference on “Insurance Sector in 2009”

On 25 March 2010, the Association held its annual press conference on the developments in the Turkish insurance sector in 2009. During the conference Mr. Hulusi Taskiran, the President of the Association provided detailed information to press members on the performance of the Turkish insurance sector in 2009, recent regulations and expectations regarding 2010.

During the conference, Mr. Taskiran also informed participants about the publicity campaign launched in 2009 and the theater play on insurance for children sponsored by the Association. At the end of the conference, Mr. Taskiran responded questions from the press.

The Annual Sector Dinner hosted by the Association took place at Sait Halim Pasa Mansion

On 12 March 2010, the Annual Sector Dinner hosted by the Association took place at Sait Halim Pasa Mansion with the participation of senior guests from the Undersecretariat of Treasury, Ministry of Agriculture, Security General Directorate, Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), insurance companies and members of the working committees of the Association.

On 20 March 2010, the Association held a meeting with the officials of the Revenue Administration. The meeting was attended by senior officers of the Revenue Administration and chairman of board and board members of the Association. During the meeting, the participants mainly discussed taxation issues in the insurance sector and related problems.

The Association participated to the symposium on “Health Rights”

On 10–12 March 2010, the Association participated to the symposium on “Health Rights” held by the Local Health Authority of Istanbul. The symposium was attended by the participants from health institutions, labor unions, professional organizations, public bodies and scholars. At the symposium, the Association was represented by Mr. Atilla Oksay, Head of Technical Unit.

During the symposium, the current situation in health rights and related problems were discussed. At the symposium, Mr. Atilla Oksay also made a presentation on malpractice insurance.

The Association participated to the seminar on “Provisions of Turkish Commercial Law Regarding Insurance Law”

On 18 March 2010, the Association participated to the seminar on “Provisions of Turkish Commercial Law Regarding Insurance Law” held by the Koc University. During the seminar, the Association was represented by Mr. Huseyin Arslan, Legal Affairs Specialist.During the seminar, the participants discussed about the provisions of Turkish Commercial Law regarding insurance law in detail.

CEA’s “Tackling Climate Change-Vital Contribution of Insurers” Report was summarized and translated into Turkish

The Association summarized and translated into Turkish the CEA report entitled “Tackling Climate Change-Vital Contribution of Insurers”. The report analyzes the impacts of the climate change on the insurance sector. The report also provides initiatives on awareness raising, claims management promoted by the insurance associations and insurance companies in Europe. The summarized Turkish translation of the report is available on the Association’s Turkish website.
